Giants QB Wilson Fires Back at Former Coach Sean Payton Regarding Jaxson Dart Remarks

NY Giants quarterback Russell Wilson did not hold back on online platforms this Tuesday, responding to recent comments from his ex-mentor Sean Payton.

"Classless... but not shocked...," Wilson stated via social media. "Didn't realize you're still bounty hunting 15+ years later through the media."

Wilson's response directly referenced the infamous bounty scandal controversy from 2009-11, when Payton was coaching the Saints.

At that time, the league found that the Saints had rewarded players for delivering aggressive tackles on opponents. As a result, Payton was suspended from the NFL for one season.

The Cause of the Latest Dispute

Wilson's reaction came after Payton delivered comments following Denver's historic comeback victory over the New York. Payton remarked that the Giants had "found a little spark" with Jaxson Dart, who has replaced Wilson as the starting quarterback.

Additionally, Payton implied that he had informed Giants owner John Mara that he would rather facing Wilson instead of Dart.

"I spoke to John Mara not too long ago and I said, 'We hoped that the switch would've happened long after our game,'" the coach commented.
