The Reform UK leader Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his perspective on the UK education system, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike soon after securing a victory,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, the head of a major education union rejected the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his political career on dog-whistle politics and now, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

The party, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and seems not to have designated an education lead.

However, his comments indicated the group would reform the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with schooling – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

Farage expressed that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves rather than what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned through education, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 led to significant interruptions in schools and extensive missed instruction for students.

At the US event, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He said organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I am serious. I’ll assist garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to your online courses. I make that commitment tonight and I’ll do that.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. It offers these excellent programs for free to every interested learner.”
